This is my first blog ever, so not too sure what I should be writing in it, so here goes. I have recently located to what CBS refers to as a small penninsula on the Arabian Gulf with a massive ego, or to everyone else as Dubai.
Well the culture shock of moving to Emirate really sinks in when you get of the plane and realise that the airport is in a soaring heat of 36 degrees at night and it looks like a casino without the gambling!
On arrival and a very quiet drive in the back of a cab, one quickly realises why the world is going nuts over Dubai and we speed rapidly down Sheikh Zayed Road, the most notorious road in the United Arab Emirates. I’m quickly informed that if I keep driving in a straightline I will end up in Abu Dhabi. Not too sure if the driver was telling me to stay away or be just pure sarcasm on his front.
Quickly you notice the massive construction of Burj Dubai (See video), this I am told is going to be the world’s tallest building, the height yet unconfirmed and if anyone pips it to the post it will be has a mechincal spike to ensure that it remains the same for the foreseeable future.
